Nearly everyone on Facebook has been tagged with an embarrasing photo, but most people don’t sue the person who tagged them.

Minneapolis resident Eric Olson did. And the person he sued was his uncle, Randall LaBrie.

After LaBrie posted childhood photos of Olson in front of a Christmas tree and added snarky comments, Olson got angry and sued his uncle for harassment, according to Newser.com.

Sadly for Olson, he not only lost the case but his appeal to a higher court was also denied.

The state Court of Appeals decreed that “comments that are mean and disrespectful, coupled with innocuous family photos, do not affect a person’s safety, security, or privacy…” and therefore do not count as harassment, according to the Above The Law blog.

The appeals court rejected Olson’s claims of harrassment saying that “Comments that are mean and disrespectful, coupled with innocuous family photos, do not affect a person’s safety, security, or privacy — and certainly not substantially so” and therefore did not fit the legal definition of the term.

Although the appeals court dismissed Olson’s case, Technology And Marketing Law Blog writer Eric Goldman gave him credit for hubris for attempting to argue that the trial court erred in not crediting the testimony of his mother, who testified that Labrie’s conduct was offensive.

Added Goldman: “The only thing that would have kicked this opinion up a notch would have been a cite to awkwardfamilyphotos.com.

EXTON, Pa. — A hefty southeastern Pennsylvania man is behind bars after police say he walked naked into a Walmart and stole a pair of socks.

Thirty-two-year-old Verdon Lamont Taylor was arrested Wednesday night after police say he stripped off his clothes in the parking lot of the Exton store and went inside.

Police say surveillance footage shows the 6-foot-4, 300-pound Downingtown man walking around the store. Authorities say they used a stun gun to subdue him after he refused to comply with officers’ orders.

Taylor was arraigned on charges including aggravated assault and indecent exposure. He’s being held on $50,000 bail at Chester County Prison.

Online court records do not list an attorney for Taylor.

A heroin user was sentenced to a year in prison after he tried to rob a UK power station last year, only to suffer severe injuries when he urinated on a transformer, according to ThisIsLeicesterShire.com.

Michael Harper, 36, suffered serious burns in the blast which knocked out power to some 2,000 homes and caused $42,000 in damage to businesses in March, FOX reported.

The Leicester father of two was left for dead by his 50-year-old accomplice, Richard Boyce, who tried to drive away but was found later with burnt hands. Harper sustained burns to his body and face, but survived.

The two had reportedly broken into the power station to steal metal and take heroin.

An English judge sentenced Boyce to four years in jail, but reduced Harper’s sentence to one year because of his medical ordeal.

Harper had “suffered a punishment, it seems to me, already,” Judge Michael Stephens told Harper in court. “You were seriously injured and very nearly lost your life, and will be permanently disfigured.”

(Newser) – A serial killer on Death Row is giving up the locations of the bodies of up to 20 people he killed—for the tidy sum of $33,000, reports the LA Times. Convicted murderer Wesley Shermantine drew maps of two dumping grounds after he was paid by a Sacramento bounty hunter to reveal where he and his partner hid their victims’ bodies from a drug-fueled murder spree that began in the mid-1980s and lasted more than a decade. “We have information that we may have 10 to 20 bodies in that well,” said an investigator yesterday, referring to a farmland site identified by Shermantine.

Shermantine’s partner, who was on parole after being released from prison in 2010, killed himself last month after learning Shermantine intended to reveal the locations of the additional bodies. On Thursday, the apparent remains were found of a 25-year-old woman who went missing from her home in 1998, and a 16-year-old missing since 1985 was thought to have been discovered on Friday. “He said this could be very incriminating for him to do, but I told him he’s already on Death Row and they’re not going to kill you more than once,” said the bounty hunter.

Sweet, sweet justice.

Police in Kentucky arrested a man last Thursday after they found him completely covered in chocolate and peanut butter lying down on a supermarket floor, The Smoking Gun reported.

According to a police report, 22-year-old Andrew Toothman smashed through the Food World IGA’s glass front door wearing only boots. He then emptied all of the market’s fire extinguishers and spelled out “Sorry” on the floor using NyQuil before heading to the confections.

“The subject had peanut butter and chocolate smeared all over his person,” the officer wrote. “[He] admitted to breaking into Food World IGA.”

CBS News quoted the officer as saying it was the “biggest mess I have seen.”

Toothman was booked into the Letcher County Jail on charges of indecent exposure, burglary, and criminal mischief. He was held on $25,000, though he is now released.

(Newser) – Let the punishment fit the crime? A Florida man who appeared in court this week on a domestic violence charge was ordered by the judge to … take his wife on a date. The charge apparently grew out of an argument Joseph Bray had with his wife—whose birthday he failed to acknowledge. According to the arrest report, Bray shoved his wife onto the couch, held her neck, and readied himself for a punch, but didn’t actually hit her. At the hearing this week, she told Judge Jay Hurley she was neither hurt nor in fear. Because of that, and because Bray had no priors, the judge ordered what the Sun-Sentinel calls “whimsical conditions.”

Hurley asked the woman what she liked to do and where she liked to eat, and her answer became her hubby’s punishment. “He’s going to stop by somewhere and he’s going to get some flowers, and then he’s going to go home, pick up his wife, get dressed, take her to Red Lobster,” said Hurley. “And then after they have Red Lobster, they’re going to go bowling.” They were also ordered to begin marriage counseling. Explained Hurley of his decision, “The court would not normally do that if the court felt there was some violence but this is very, very minor and the court felt that that was a better resolution than other alternatives.”

Nick Stoeberl wants to stick out in this world.

Ideally, the 21-year-old from Monterey, Calif., would like to make his mark doing standup comedy, but even if that doesn’t work out, he has something else up his sleeve … or down his throat.

Stoeberl possesses a tongue that has been measured at 3.988 inches, and he believes it is the largest in the world.

“I just always knew it was large,” Stoeberl told HuffPost Weird News. “My dad was a big KISS fan before he passed away and I really do think that has something to do with it.”

Stoeberl’s tongue has been verified as the world’s largest by Recordsetter.com, an adjudicating agency that specializes in wacky world records such as “Most Times To Sing ‘The Golden Girls Theme Song’ While The Song Is Playing” or “Fastest Time For Two People To Switch Pants”.

However, records like this are the stuff that were made for Guinness World Records, and the current tongue record holder is Stephen Taylor, a 50-year-old British man whose licker measures a whopping 3.86 inches — long enough to fit five doughnuts on it, according to People.co.uk

Stoeberl concedes that’s long, but believes his is longer and he has applied for official Guinness certification.

He’s fairly certain the company will agree. “When I was measured by Recordsetter, I made sure they followed the same criteria as Guinness,” Stoeberl explained.

Those criteria include having the tongue measured from the tip to the middle of the closed upper lip; having three measurements taken at the time of measurement with the average length used as the accepted figure; and having the measurements taken by qualified medical practitioners.

A Guinness representative confirms that Stoeberl has submitted his application to them, but says the organization is waiting for the documentation. She added, “We would need to see this first hand, though.”

Stoeberl’s tongue already gets him a lot of attention, but not all of it is desired.

“I get so much sexual harassment,” he confessed. “It’s a good party-starter, but one girl told me she’d like my tongue’s autograph. I’m not sure what she meant by that.”

Stoeberl can expect even more of that, according to Chanal Tapper, also 21, a Houston-based model whose 3.8-inch tongue earned her the Guinness title of World’s Largest Female Tongue back in September.

“You may get lots of rude comments from people — but, of course, it’s different for a guy,” Tapper told HuffPost Weird News. “For instance, I brush mine every day but part of it is still whitish. If he’s not careful about hygiene, people will make comments about the way it looks.”

But, she added, cruel comments won’t be his main concern if his tongue does make the cut.

“A lot of people will want to represent him and exploit him,” she said. “You have to be careful.”

Although Stoeberl hopes his tongue gets his foot in the door of show business, he’s trying to keep his options open about how he utilizes his unique gift.

“I’d like to do food reviews,” he said. “I think I have a higher sense of taste than other people. I always have a sweet tooth –especially for chocolate and Starbursts.”

Police arrested a man they said was running naked from the scene of a car crash near Cleveland on Wednesday, TV station WEWS reports.

The nude man (to be fair, he was wearing a pair of socks) was either the driver or passenger in a blue Ford Taurus that collided with another car at 2 a.m. in Beachwood, Ohio, the station said.

Cops charged the Torriano Brown with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and reckless driving, Patch reports. His passenger Willie Chandler was busted for alleged weapon possession, but police wouldn’t tell Patch which suspect was in the buff.

There were no public nudity charges, but the incident calls to mind a long list of things you can’t do naked, such as a woman who exposed herself on her daughter’s schoolbus and a man who went fishing in his birthday suit.

I’m lovin’ it! And I’m not sharin’ it.

A Pennsylvania man was arrested on Wednesday night after he allegedly stabbed his brother several times over a McDonald’s brownie, The Times-Tribune reported.

Cops said that Erik “Eggs” Cain and his brother Gene Cain got into an argument when Gene cut the treat in half. The share tactic was apparently enough to enrage Erik, because he picked up three steak knives and allegedly slashed and stabbed Gene in the left forearm, left shoulder and right wrist.

“[Gene] thought his brother was going to kill him,” so he responded by throwing a television at Erik, police Sgt. Joseph Laguzzi wrote in a report obtained by the newspaper.

Erik fled, but was later collared and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct.

But it wasn’t Erik’s first run-in with cops. At the time of the alleged stabbing incident, Erik had been out on bail after being charged with slashing his girlfriend last month, The Associated Press reported.
